Although these tablets are not a necessity to implement the UFLI program, in my experience, they certainly add an element of excitement for kids.

Orthographic mapping is SOR backed and these sound box mats and game chips certainly accomplish this practice in a snap. With multiple combinations in a variety of colors, these engaging sound boxes make teaching foundational reading skills super easy. Although these resources are not required to implement UFLI, I recommend them as an add on resource for reinforcing orthographic mapping.

File-EZ Two-Pocket Folders
I highly recommend these EZ two pocket folders. Make management of the printable, decodable passages easy by housing them in these light weight but durable folders. Transport the hard copies of the UFLI decodable text to and from home or intervention and the classroom by securing them in these pocket folders with prongs in a bunch of bright colors. You and your students will appreciate the collectioin of stories you accumulate in one easily accessible spot. Repeated readings of the passages are a breeze when students have their own “booklets” of familiar text they can feel confident rereading while enhancing their fluency skills.
