Who Am I?
I am a certified reading specialist currently working as a K-5 reading interventionist in the Glastonbury CT Public School System. With a 7 year background in second grade teaching, and then becoming a reading teacher for the next 14 years, I have gained extensive experience in the field of education.
I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. As a certified reading specialist, I have a deep understanding of effective reading instruction and have successfully implemented various phonics programs throughout my career.
My Mission
This website is a valuable resource for teachers who are interested in implementing state-approved, science of reading backed phonics programs. My goal is to provide quick and easy steps for successfully implementing these programs in your classroom. Having used the UFLI program for the past two years, I understand both challenges and rewards of implementing a new phonics program. I created this website to support teachers who are new to the UFLI program by providing them with a simple 3-step approach to implementation. Additionally, I will share tips, tricks, and go-to resources to help set your students up for success.
Through this website, my aim is to empower teachers with the knowledge and resources they need to effectively implement state-approved and science of reading backed phonics programs. I want to provide teachers with the tools they need to confidently teach phonics and help their students become successful readers. Additionally, I will be available to answer any questions based on my personal experience implementing the UFLI program.
